Rotary club presents 17th Opera in the Arboretum

The Rotary Club of Woy Woy will present its 17th Opera in the Arboretum at Pearl Beach from 3pm to 5:30pm on Saturday, March 23.

It will feature operatic performances from tenor Diego Torre, soprano Sophie Salvesani, baritone Jose Carbo and mezzo Shibara Ringdahl, supported by the Central Coast Chamber Orchestra, under the baton of Patrick Brennan.

The event is the club's major annual fundraiser and has raised $480,000 since it started in 2006, shared between local charities and Rotary projects.

This year's beneficiaries will be Central Coast Conservatorium Strings Scholarships, Umina Surf Life Saving Club, Pearl Beach Rural Fire Brigade, Central Coast community charities, Rotary Foundation Australia and other Rotary projects.

"Sponsorship helps ensure the event delivers more benefits to local charities," said Rotary club opera convenor Mr Wayne Jennings.

"The Rotary Foundation connects corporations, philanthropists and individuals with Rotary projects that make a significant difference for Australian communities," he said.
